Nutrition Counseling for Women in Maryland, DC & Virginia

You've seen the doctors. You've tried the diets. You still don't feel like yourself. I'm Julie Wendt, a licensed clinical nutritionist, and I help women figure out what's actually going on and build a plan to fix it.

You Shouldn't Have to Feel This Way

Does any of this sound familiar?

A woman with curly hair and earrings writing in a notebook at a table with a cup of coffee, a glass of orange juice, and a laptop.

Exhausted and foggy

Tired no matter how much you sleep. Struggling to think clearly or show up fully.

A woman standing outdoors with her arms raised above her head, eyes closed, enjoying the sunshine with a blue sky and scattered clouds in the background.

Gut issues that won't quit

Bloating, pain, unpredictable digestion that disrupts your day and your confidence.

You've started to wonder if it's all in your head. It isn't.

Bloating, fatigue, brain fog, GI pain, anxiety, unexplained weight changes, and hormonal imbalances are real symptoms with real root causes. You deserve more than a prescription to manage symptoms. You deserve answers.

Dismissed and unheard

Your labs are "normal." Your doctor says it's stress. But you know something is wrong.

A Clinical Approach to Nutrition

This Is Not a Generic Nutrition Plan

Most nutrition advice is built for the average person. My approach is built for you.

As a Certified Nutrition Specialist and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist, I use advanced functional testing to understand exactly what is happening in your body before I make a single recommendation. This is not guesswork. It is clinically guided, evidence-based nutrition care that goes far deeper than anything you will find in a standard doctor's visit or a generic wellness program.

The gut-brain connection sits at the center of how I work. Your digestive system contains over 500 million neurons and communicates directly with your brain, influencing your mood, immune function, energy, and cognitive clarity. Research shows that when gut symptoms improve, anxiety and depression scores drop by as much as 40%. Treating the root cause changes everything.

I hold a Master of Science in nutrition and also work within a psychiatry practice, which gives me a perspective on the relationship between mental health and nutrition that most nutritionists simply do not have. When you work with me, you are getting clinical training, functional medicine expertise, and someone who genuinely listens.

Julie Wendt, MS, CNS, LDN

Licensed Nutritionist | Functional Medicine Practitioner

Like many women, my real education in health began at home. What started with a colicky newborn taught me, in no uncertain terms, that food can be medicine—or a trigger. With every new family member and health challenge, one truth kept showing up: what we eat deeply impacts how we feel.

After years of being the go-to nutritionist for my own family, I turned my passion for food and healing into a professional calling. Today, I help high-performing women who feel foggy, bloated, anxious, and exhausted reconnect with clarity, calm, and vitality through personalized, root-cause functional medicine.

I hold a Master’s of Science in Integrative Health and Nutrition from Maryland University of Integrative Health, and a B.S. in Resource Economics from Cornell. I’m a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in Maryland, and Licensed Nutritionist in Washington, D.C.

My approach is rooted in a simple truth: the body knows how to heal when we clear the noise, nourish the foundations, and listen closely. Using advanced testing, compassionate support, and evidence-based interventions, I guide clients through the healing of complex symptoms like IBS, fatigue, brain fog, hormonal imbalances, and early cognitive decline.

If you’re ready to feel like yourself again—clearer, lighter, more resilient—I’m here to help you get there.
